Functional training focuses on the core and balance. This DVD is made up of 4 blocks each demonstrating different strength and conditioning technique using Body Max rhythms. If you are not familiar with Body Max it is a great weighted class programme devised by Dean Hodgkin and Jane Wake some years ago and is still going strong in many clubs. Body Max uses a set pattern of ‘rhythms’ which are used and referred to throughout many exercises on this DVD. The main focus of this DVD is on functional exercise and how such movements feature in your clients in every day life.
The exercises on this DVD include the following equipment; dumb bells, balance disc and a band.
Introduction – what is functional training?
Block 1 – Squat based exercises using equipment
Block 2 – Lunge based exercises using equipment
Block 3 – Floor work using equipment
Block 4 – Quadruped position, exercises with and without equipment.
The structure of this DVD makes it possible for you to use sections of the exercises in your warm up and cool down or you can use the whole routine in your conditioning or Body Max classes.
